PlaceDict Terms of Service

Effective: August 28, 2026

These terms govern the use of PlaceDict (the “Service”) provided by HottestLab (the “Operator”) and define the rights and responsibilities of the Operator and users. By using the Service, you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

The Service lets users collect places and related information on maps, create Dictionaries, and publish and share specific versions through public links. The Operator may change or discontinue all or part of the Service to maintain reliable operation and will provide reasonable advance notice of significant changes.

2. Accounts and security

• Editing features require Google sign-in.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and managing activity under it.
• Notify the Operator promptly if you suspect unauthorized use or another security issue.

3. User content

You retain your rights in content you submit, including Dictionary names, descriptions, place information, addresses, coordinates, and photos. You represent that you have the right to submit and publish that content and that it does not violate law or another person’s rights.

You grant the Operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, transform, transmit, and display content only as necessary to operate the Service and honor the visibility you choose.

4. Publishing and versions

• Publishing may save the Dictionary and place information at that time as an immutable public version.
• Anyone with a public link can view and share the published content.
• Before publishing, check that the content contains no private locations, unnecessary personal information, or material that infringes third-party rights.
• Unpublishing restricts future public access but cannot guarantee retrieval of copies already made or shared by others.

5. Prohibited use

You must not:

1. Violate law, public order, or accepted standards of conduct
2. Infringe privacy, copyright, trademark, or other rights
3. Submit or distribute deceptive information, malware, or unlawful content
4. Disrupt security or normal operation, or access systems without authorization
5. Use automation to impose excessive load or collect data without permission
6. Impersonate another person or entity

6. External services

The Service may use map and search features from Google, NAVER, and Apple and authentication or data storage from Supabase. Their own terms and policies apply. Changes or outages in those services may limit some features.

7. Restrictions and termination

If a user violates these terms or law, or threatens Service safety, the Operator may restrict public content or suspend access after notice. For urgent security risks, unlawful conduct, or serious infringement, the Operator may act first and notify the user afterward. You may stop using the Service and request account and personal-data deletion at any time, subject to lawful retention obligations.

8. Liability

The Operator does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or the accuracy of all information. Users are responsible for content they submit or publish and how it is used. To the extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for indirect or special losses arising from this free Service without willful misconduct or gross negligence.

9. Changes to these terms

The Operator may revise these terms to reflect legal or Service changes. Material adverse changes are announced with their effective date and reason 30 days in advance; other changes are announced seven days in advance.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. The parties should first attempt to resolve disputes through discussion; unresolved disputes may be brought before a court with jurisdiction under applicable law.
